Mary’s Gone Crackers= Pantry Staple

After experiencing excruciating stomach pains, chronic fatigue and the inability to eat for hours at a time due to a horrendous feeling that controlled my entire body, I recently discovered that I have a gluten sensitivity. This discovery has been life-changing, especially after dealing with these symptoms on a regular basis and visiting doctors and specialists routinely for two years. Mary’s Gone Crackers has become one of my favorite brands out there. Not only is this brand gluten free, but it is also soy free, organic, non-GMO, vegan, dairy free and wheat free. Their product line consists of crackers, cookies, pretzels and bread crumbs. These products all have a spot permanently reserved in my pantry.

Since I have tried pretty much every flavor of their products and follow their newsletter, I was informed that they had released a couple new flavors. I immediately drove to the nearest 5 health food stores and healthy supermarkets in my area, BUT unfortunately none of them had received the shipment yet. I decided to reach out the the company asking if they would be able to help me locate these new flavors. Not only did they give me a detailed list of places where I would have better luck finding them, but they sent me a box containing one box of Hot ‘N Spicy Jalapeño crackers (new flavor), one box of Double Chocolate Chip cookies (I had never tried their cookies prior) and a bag of Curry pretzels (the only flavor I had not tried).

I will start of reviewing Mary’s Gone Crackers crackers. These crackers have the perfect crunch to them and they are pretty addicting. I usually have them on the side with my soup or I will have them as a snack with hummus or guacamole.

These nutritious crackers are made from brown rice, quinoa, flax seeds and sesame seeds, which provide you with high protein, omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. You can have 13 of these flavorful crackers for about  140 calories (depending on the flavor), 3g of fiber and 3g of protein. These crackers come in seven different flavors, which I will list in my order of preference: hot ‘n spicy jalepeno, onion, caraway, black pepper, super seed, original and herb.

Since I absolutely LOVE cookies, I could not wait to try these. I did not know what to expect since I normally do not like packaged cookies, but I was pleasantly surprised. What I loved most about these cookies was how I felt after consuming a serving- happy and satisfied. They definitely fulfill any sweet craving without the guilt. I dunked mine in tea, which melted the chocolate chips (mmMm).  A serving consists of 2 cookies for about 130 calories and only 9g of sugar. These cookies come in four flavors (since I have not tried all of them I will just list them in no specific order): Chocolate Chip, Ginger Snap, Double Chocolate Chip and “N’ Oatmeal Raisin (without oats!) I am looking forward to trying the other 3 flavors.

Lastly, I would like to brag about the Sticks & Twigs Pretzels. These are great to have alone while watching your favorite TV show or as a side with your favorite salad. What I like most about these pretzels is the light, airy crunch provided by the different shapes. These pretzels are made from whole grain brown rice, quinoa, flax seeds, sesame seeds, amaranth, millet and chia seeds. They come in 3 flavors which I will list in my order of preference: Chipotle Tomato, Sea Salt and Curry. You can have 15 pretzels for 15o calories, 4g of fiber and 4g of protein. This is a check plus in my book 🙂

If you have not tried this brand or any of these products, I encourage you to do so ASAP. I guarantee if you appreciate quality ingredients and are constantly trying gluten free, dairy free, wheat free and/or nut free products, this brand will become a staple in your pantry as well.

    I love these crackers, but they cause terrible problems for my stomach. We’ve been wheat free a few months so I am new to these crackers as well. Normally if I eat 10 crackers I feel heartburn in my chest and throat. But last night I was starving before bed so I ate 25-30. I am now awake at 4 a.m. in incredible pain in my stomach all the way up into my throat. I want to vomit, but can’t. Ouch! This really hurts!!! Has anyone else had this problem?
